Artist Statement

The recent pandemic, extreme effects of climate change and racial injustice have created a radical change in every aspect of our lives. Heightened awareness and care for the natural world and our communities is demanded of us. These concerns are more urgently addressed in my studio practice and my paintings have revealed themselves in new ways.  

Through the use of abstraction, repetition, layering and transparency, my work points to and invites us to question our clarity of vision, depth of understanding and ability to recognize and actively honor the interconnection and interdependence of all life.
