Artist Statement

Stories of the natural world, its beauty, and current imbalance, inform my work. Living in West Virginia, I feel the destruction of the mountains, forests, and rivers. I am passionate about telling this story in my artwork. I continually explore a variety of experimental processes and challenge myself to develop new media in two and three dimensions. The piece, “open the tap”  was made in response to a water poisoning that happened in Charleston, West Virginia where coal cleaning chemicals spilled into the water source for 300,000 people.
