Artist Statement
This work is part of a larger series that Jenny Walton is exploring ideas of impermanent and human interactions with pressure systems relating to environmental and political ideologies. These works take on motifs of clouds, objects that are ephemeral, hold the precious resource of water, and are subject to the briefest of influences. Clouds, ephemeral and at the mercy of the next unpredictable draft act as a reminder to slow down and see beyond our everyday struggles. The urgency of drawing clouds came from a need to humanize the forces that cannot be controlled through nature into its opposite: manmade environments.
