During this crisis, we know that community is more important now than ever. We need to think local, act local, and give local. And MPA needs you to help us continue to provide arts education resources to some of our most impacted community residents. MPA has been distinctive in transitioning our programming in this changed environment. Remarkably, every aspect of our mission has grown in 2020.
Did you know that art combats both stress and trauma by enhancing positive emotions, building social connections, and providing nonverbal means of communication?* In a tremendously stressful year, MPA’s programming reached thousands of students, seniors, and individuals with special needs. That’s a lot of impact! Your support will help ensure we can continue to provide these critical services.
We are so proud of our work in 2020, and with your GivingTuesday gift at any level we can do even more in 2021!
- $10: Provides basic art supplies to accompany weekly ArtReach activities for a young person without reliable access to technology and internet
- $25: Allows MPA to open the gallery for COVID-safe exhibition viewing by supporting gallery monitors and cleaning supplies
- $50: Provides printing and supply assistance for ArtReach activities for our partners, including Second Story, Best Buddies, Fairfax County seniors, & community centers
- $100: Provides 1 MPA virtual art class instructor with online teaching supplies, such as a tripod, headset, and virtual classroom account
- $200: Supports technology accounts for virtual programming, exhibition openings, artist talks, etc
- $300: Provides 1 online summer camp scholarship to a financially disadvantaged local student
